19 POEMS FROM VERO BEACH | ANNA M. FIGUEROA

Anna M. Figueroa

19 Poems from Vero Beach by Cuban American poet Anna M. Figueroa is a bilingual collection of modern poetry that explores love, faith, identity, and the transformative power of resilience. Named for the nineteen poems written from her summer home in Vero Beach, the collection also includes poems in both English and Spanish written from Miami and during her travels.

The poems move between places and cultures with a lyrical voice that celebrates womanhood and self-discovery. Figueroa infuses her work with the beauty and strength of daily life, capturing the intimacy and magic of moments of honesty and connection.

Each poem is a snapshot of transformation: a woman’s hands remembering her mother’s touch, the sacred ache of solitude, the healing power of words, and the courage it takes to face both beauty and loss. Through vivid imagery and lyrical craft, Figueroa captures what it means to live fully—to burn, to fall, to rise, and to begin again.
